Why I Came Back To Hubpages

 According to my traffic statistics I joined hubpages on the seventeenth of September 2006.

This is just a few days before my forty first birthday (21.Sept),I don't remember joining although I do remember writing a couple of tester hubs.At the time I was joining anything and everything available connected with affiliate marketing and learning a lot  of new things by listening to teleseminars (you know this routine I'm sure). Somehow hubpages was forgotten as I pursued knowledge and experience in other areas of affiliate marketing.

Now that the dust has settled two and a half years later,hubpages is back on my radar, especially as less than a month of activity and 20 hubs in I'm beginning to see small amounts of potential income accumulate in my adsense account. Nothing that will shake the world mind you, but a small incremental change in the way things are working for me has been happening.

The tww and a half year delay between joining and becoming active coincides for me with a transit of Saturn which has always been a large influence on how I do things (slowly) and when I do things (cautiously and often later than expected).

My approach,now that I'm in my forties, is to learn enough about the territory I'm about to step into to be able to draw a basic map and know how things are likely to work before I actually make the journey.

At earlier points in my life I would have launched myself headlong into the unknown and been quite satisfied with the possibility of sinking or swimming.As I approach my forty fourth year on the planet I am grateful for all the times I've sunk without trace and realised that whatever I was attempting was no the right thing for me at the time safe in the knowledge that I can go back to a few of those things again with a carefully drawn map and clear,realistic expectations of what will happen. I think I just grew up a bit,and I'm very pleased that it happened despite my best efforts at remaining an enthusiastic,naive twelve year old.
